Behind the Scenes at Greta Oto, Munich

A photographic journey into the kitchen of one of Munich’s most remarkable restaurants.

Inside Greta Oto at the Koenigshof in Munich, I had the opportunity to explore a world that usually remains hidden from guests. A place defined by movement, concentration, craftsmanship and the shared ambition to create something exceptional.

What fascinates me about a kitchen operating at this level is the extraordinary balance between energy and precision. Heat, movement, voices, the rhythm of plates coming and going. Everything seems to happen at once, yet every gesture has its purpose. There is a quiet confidence in the way people work together, developed through experience, repetition and an instinctive understanding of their craft.

My photographic approach was to capture this atmosphere as it unfolded. Not staged perfection, but authentic moments. The gestures, expressions, details and interactions that reveal the people and the passion behind the experience.

Because great cooking is about more than the finished dish. It is about countless small decisions, individual personalities and moments of intense concentration coming together to create something memorable.

A choreography of heat, instinct and precision.
