Casino Konstanz – Between Light and Decision

A casino is not a place of chance, but a space of focused attention. Light becomes a guiding force—it directs the gaze, defines boundaries, and allows figures to emerge or recede into shadow. Time appears to slow: hands hesitate, gazes linger, bodies resolve into silhouettes. What matters is not the game itself, but the moment before it—the brief instant of decision. I photograph these transitions, where emotion remains open and control and release exist in close proximity. The artificial light reshapes perception, revealing what is usually unseen: tension, expectation, subtle inner movement. These images are quiet observations of human presence, a restrained reflection on light, emotion, and the distinctive atmosphere of the casino.
